Biography of Father Jose Uppani

I was ordained a priest on December 19, 1981. I was very seriously sick all through my seminary days so much so that nobody expected that I would be ordained. But, God in his rich mercy willed that I should become a priest.

to stir a response in love and good works” (Heb 10:24)

 

 

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Lenten season offers us once again an opportunity to reflect upon the very heart of Christian life: charity. This is a favourable time to renew our journey of faith, both as individuals and as a community, with the help of the word of God and the sacraments. This journey is one marked by prayer and sharing, silence and fasting, in anticipation of the joy of Easter.

Easter Mass & Dinner on April 24th

As in the past years, we are celebrating Easter on the 24th of April at the Dolores Church.  We will be gathering at the church for the Easter Mass at 4:30 PM. It will be a service of musical celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ – a spirit-filled, musical Easter Celebration you don’t want to miss.It will be followed by a Kerala style Dinner. We encourage you to invite all of your family and friends to join us on this joyous occasion.

We are a mission that is part of the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago.   The Syro-Malabar rite is an ancient Oriental rite in the Catholic church, dating back to the first century A.D. when Thomas the Apostle visited India.

We meet twice a month (on the second & the last Sundays of the month) for Malayalam Mass at the Dolores Church. For directions click here. If you are new in the area, we welcome you to join us for the mass and other community events!
